Created in 1990 for the purpose of co-ordinating the analytical
activities of the 26 laboratories making up the laboratory
network of the breeders associations. Today it offers services
to the Italian animal farming and milk and cheese industry.
Since 1997, the Laboratorio Standard Latte has SINAL accreditation
(number 138) and currently carries out the following testing:
- determining fat content in milk - FIL-IDF Regulation
1D (1996)
- determination of milk proteins - FIL-IDF Regulation 20B
(1993)
- determining the somatic cell content using microscopic
method - FIL-IDF Regulation 148 (1995) Method A
- determining the somatic cell content using the fluoro-otpo-metric
cell flow method - FIL-IDF Regulation 148 (1995) Method
C
- determining the urea content in milk - pH method - differential
measurement (internal method)
- determining the content of fat, protein and lactose in
each batch using infrared instruments (internal method).
Since 1999 the Laboratorio Standard Latte Quality System
is DNV certified (Det Norske Veritas certificate no. 05315-99-aq-rom-sincert)
and now conforms with the requirements of Regulation UNI EN
1509.001-1994 for the following field of application: Planning,
preparation and marketing of reference material and certified
reference material in the milk and cheese sector. Planning,
organisation and carrying out testing procedures between laboratories.
